The Lawyer Referral Service established in 1962 is a non-profit public service of the Omaha Bar Association. The service refers callers to private practicing attorneys in Douglas and Sarpy counties. All LRS attorneys are in good standing with the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Omaha Bar Association.
The attorneys who are listed with the service provide a first thirty-minute consultation for the fee of $40.00, with the exception of worker's comp, personal injury, and social security for which no consultation fee is charged. If the caller needs additional services, further fees are arranged between the caller and the attorney. All fees are paid directly to the attorneys not the LRS. The LRS will require basic information to make a referral. An appointment will be made with an attorney who has indicated their area of practice and an interest in handling your type of case. Information you share with the LRS is confidential and is sent to the attorney to show you called throught the service. Maybe you don't need an attorney. The LRS also knows of other legal service organizations, government agencies or community resources that might be helpful. The LRS can provide that information. The OBA Lawyer Referral Service is the only bar sponsored referral service in Omaha. Its that simple, but that important. Contact Us: |
